Welcome to Braidwater. We, your hosts at Braidwater, are Greg and Gina Nelson. We met at Stanford and married in 1983. Greg is a professional outfitter, custom builder and native to the area. Gina is a local physician originally from Los Angeles. It was always our dream to have a farm the Valley, and in 1995 we were fortunate enough to acquire Braidwater.

The first things we did was plant the orchard, hence its maturity today. Next we built the barn and lived in what is now the guest quarters. As the family grew, we built the family house and decided to have guests in the barn.

Building and landscaping on the property became a project for friends and family as well as professionals. Our heart and soul have been poured into the architecture and landscaping. We believe you will be able to feel it.

In some respects we are still a city girl and a country boy. Yet this property suits us both. Our home is located on the Flathead River, in the middle of valley farmland and forests, yet only minutes from Kalispell across the river. From here you can easily hike in Glacier National Park, ski Whitefish Mountain, or sail on Flathead Lake. Ten minutes away, Kalispell is cosmopolitan beyond its size, containing many art galleries, a wonderful community medical center, great restaurants and a fabulous symphony orchestra.
